From Sand to Silicon: The Making of a Microchip | Intel

Ever wonder what’s under the hood of your favorite electronic device? The transistor is the engine that powers every Intel processor. To build a modern computer chip, our engineers place billions of these tiny switches into an area no larger than a fingernail. It’s one of mankind’s most complex feats, and it’s happening every day across Intel’s global network of chip manufacturing facilities. Check out this video to learn more about how we turn sand into the silicon chips that power the world.

Orbital Material Science Labs

In labs on earth we can create a variety of environments for testing and creating various materials and processes. There are environments however that's impractical or just impossible to create on earth. For these environments we'll simply have to take the lab itself to space. In this episode of Celestial Sphere we take a look at a few labs that operate in these environments and how they benefit from it.

Celebrating 2019

Celebrating 2019
Poinsettias are dancing with red shimmering shoes,
Millenia, had its first taste of happiness, as they choose,
It’s time to remember good times.
This year, Stars chimed with equations for Physics, Chemistry, and Math.
An enchanting path for gifts, just appears,
Lift your spirits,  it’s time for the magic of beautiful feelings,
All they do, is open their arms to receive children while lifting and hugging at heart.
Start to savor achievement,
Some are looking and smiling at the big moon.
The clouds are toned to carry on,
Strong, and sublime, all vibrant, and velvety rhythms  of textures and colors.
The scent in the Air sparkles giggles and charms to others.
All wearing the rope of kindness,
It’s time to fold with care old times,
Music speaks sweet notes to all ears
it’s time to be bliss,
it’s time for joy and hope, please don’t be missed,
All are having warm laughs.
The hours to chill and relax are announced
We'll celebrate the season by all means.
We will close the year 2000 and teens. -Perla Gutierrez
