Hi! How are you doing? Things that happened and move strings, make vibrations move like waves. The life we live, is what we share in so many ways. Just for the sake of it, no other thought. Testimony of your life gives reference to other beings and that is formidable!

Portal, the newest video chat for Grandparents and Children from Amazon & Facebook
Hello All;
Last class was so interesting, full of questions and interesting thoughts. On Monday we will have the newest news on Facebook like Portal with Amazon built in. This is a completely new concept were two different platforms are joining efforts for privacy for the little ones and grandparents; sounds familiar? We will talk about different video conferences available for you and how to download them, or use them because some are already in your devices. Happy times of endless learning are ahead of us.
Here is an excerpt from Mark Zuckerberg post:
"Today we're announcing Portal -- a new kind of device that makes video calling feel a lot more like hanging out.
Portal uses an AI-powered Smart Camera and Smart Sound technology to focus on whoever's talking even across a room. It's hands-free, voice-controlled and has Amazon Alexa built in. You can use it to call anyone on Facebook Messenger so you can connect with friends and family even if they don't have Portal. It has a nice big screen -- there's a 10" version and a 15" version" -- so it's great for feeling like you're right there with someone.
Our girls use Portal to call their grandparents before bedtime so they can read books together. Portal is great for this because they don't have to hold a phone or tablet and the AI camera just naturally keeps them in the frame no matter where you are in the room. Our girls don't use a lot of screens yet, but we're happy for them to do video calls to see their grandparents or so I can see them when I'm traveling.
Privacy is built deeply into Portal. It comes with a physical cover for the camera and there's a built in hardware button to turn off the camera and microphone. We don't listen to, view, or keep the contents of your calls in any way. Your calls are always completely private.
We've been working on this for a while and I'm excited to share this with you now. I think a lot of people who do video calls with family, loved ones, or significant others will love this product as we do.
Portal will begin shipping next month in time for the holidays, and it's available now for pre-order at: http://portal.facebook.com"
Prepare your questions, get ready to be an adventurous internaut. See you tomorrow.
Keep Charming,
Perla

“Robotics Skins” turn everyday objects into robots
The skins are made from elastic sheets embedded with sensors and actuators developed in Kramer-Bottiglio's lab. Placed on a deformable object -- a stuffed animal or a foam tube, for instance -- the skins animate these objects from their surfaces. The makeshift robots can perform different tasks depending on the properties of the soft objects and how the skins are applied.
"We can take the skins and wrap them around one object to perform a task -- locomotion, for example -- and then take them off and put them on a different object to perform a different task, such as grasping and moving an object," she said. "We can then take those same skins off that object and put them on a shirt to make an active wearable device."

A Continuous Learning
Hi Folks,
We have had a wonderful experience during Summer Session, we were able to envision the future, learn from the present, and connect the past in a continuous timeline. All of it with Social Media and all its manifestations.
It has been a continuous learning and it will be for Fall Session. You are invited.
Today we will see a video with a wonderful animation. It will show you a presentation of how people is working backstage kind of;
A fun way to look at the Pipe Lines
A presentation of the new way to do Art in a new canvas in Facebook, and other platforms that share enthusiastically all the endeavors of STEAMS.
Also, let's talk about Deep Learning
For the first time in history of deep learning, a nn learns concept of a number deciding which part of input & output should have certain functions applied.
There is a NAC-neural accumulator whose weight matrix consists of only -1s,0s,1s and outputs are addition/subtraction of input vectors instead of rescaling which prevents layers from rescaling when mapping input to the output.
Deep Learning
It has been a delight! See you in a bit with all your comments and suggestions. Our conversations that are worth spreading.
Keep Charming,
Perla
